Established in 1861 following the discovery of copper nearby in 1859, Kadina quickly became a pivotal part of the “Copper Triangle” along with Moonta and Wallaroo. The influx of Cornish miners seeking fortune in the copper mines earned the region the nickname “Little Cornwall.”

This rich history is still visible today through Kadina’s numerous historic buildings, many of which date back to the 1860s and can be admired on the Discovering Historic Kadina Town Walk.
